weekend happenings...

We had a busy weekend with lots of things going on: three birthday parties, a bon-fire at friends house, a house warming party at different friends, two soccer games, a shopping trip and three shoots for me. Friday night my mom, Kennedy and I headed to the Patina White sale in DL while the boys stayed home to play soccer at half-time of the varsity boys' game.

Here are some photos of the gorgeous house where the sale was... This house is the reason I wanted to choose white siding when I found out we'd be getting all new siding because of the hail storm last year. But I chickened out and went with gray again.
The kids danced and ran around like crazy at the bon-fire. It was the second one we've been to in two weeks and there have been hayrides and hot chocolate and atleast 50 kids. What fun.

The old gold sofa was still in the back of the truck from a session this weekend, so when I walked out to go to the grocery story yesterday...this is where I found the boys.

What didn't get done this weekend? This is what the laundry room looked like when I left for work this morning. Ugh. Laundry fairy...where are you?

Feelin' Better

In case any of you are wondering how Miss Emme is doing after her surgery... she is feeling a little better today. After I picked her up yesterday, she stayed in her crate all afternoon and night and would not come out. This morning though she started walking around and even ate a little. Not only did she have to get spayed, but she also needed 11 teeth pulled...poor girl. I'm sure she'll be back to her crazy naughty self in no time.

I scream... You scream...

We all scream for ice cream!

You would have thought that Tiger Woods came walking down the street the way my kids came running in squealing and yelling. I've never seen Cooper move so fast as he did when he ran up to his room to get his wallet. He was NOT going to miss that ice cream truck.
I love that Kennedy is standing in line holding her pink purse...

miss em

Here is our chunk of a pup after her first long day home alone. She has gotten so big... she was suppose to grow to be 4-5 lbs. Hah... she's already 6 lbs and only five months old! After these photos, she was off to get a haircut...I have yet to photograph the after...it's not so good. Next week is surgery and the week after that... Puppy Kindergarten!

rainy first day

It was the first day of school today...dark, rainy and gloomy. Only two kids said they were not getting out of bed for school this morning. But....they all managed to make it up and out of the house on time. The bus was over 20 minutes late, and they were tired of standing in the neighbor's driveway getting drizzled on, so I ended up giving C&C and Kennedy a ride to school. It was the first time in seven years that I didn't have extra little feet walking through my door. I did not have to make breakfast...or lunch... Tim even took ME out for lunch today...I feel like a real working woman now!
Here are photos from the morning...

"Play with me please daddy"

I hope miss "E" made it through her long day in her crate!

summer's over

It's off to school for the kiddos tomorrow morning. I'm just glad we all survived the summer. I didn't work myself to death, the kids didn't kill each other or burn the house down, and Tim didn't move out because we got a puppy. It feels good to be getting into a routine again, although I'm not looking forward to the days of rushing to catch the bus, rushing to eat supper so you can get to practices, rushing to get homework done, and rushing to get to bed early enough just so you can wake up and do it all over again. I will miss the lazier days of summer when you could let the kids play ditch outside until 10 or later, shower around 11 and maybe make it to bed before midnight. No rushing necessary. Although I was a busy lady this summer, I did find enough lazy time to read a few books. I prefer "chick lit" types...just easy reads without much thinking involved. Here are the ones I got through during the last few months...
